Bajadasaurus pronuspinax, announced only in 2019, its name means ‘Bajada reptile bent over forwards’. A spectacular herbivorous sauropod dinosaur related to Amargasaurus, living in the Early Cretaceous forward river valleys in Northern Patagonia. It grew possibly 9 to 10 meters in length and was about the height of the present-day Indian elephant. The relatively short neck was ornamented with a pointed set of spines on its neck that may have been a defence against predators.
