Like many of Banksys pieces, this one juxtaposes the innocence of childhood against the harsh realities of war. This contrast is made even more overt by the different drawing styles used: the boy and his gun are drawn in a grown-up, realistic black-and-white style, while the colorful background of flowers are drawn in a childish doodling style.
